Each New Year we wish our loved ones health and happiness. But what happens when our wishes don’t come true?

Philippe Lesage explores the answers to this question in his latest documentary, Ce cœur qui bat (The Heart that Beats). Wandering the corridors of the l’Hôtel-Dieu hospital, he quietly films the patients that inhabit it. The result is a feature film that won two prestigious awards at the latest edition of the Rencontres internationales du Documentaire de Montréal (RIDM), the Cinémathèque québécoise Award for Best Film from Québec or Canada and Québec/Canada Best Hope Award.

The Cinéma Parallèle is offering you the chance to win free tickets to attend a special screening of this remarkable film on Friday, February 4 at 6:00pm. Director Philippe Lesage will present his film.
