It’s a Date My Cinematic Aficionados

Of Gods and Men starts showing February 25

After garnering a few honourable statuettes: the Grand Prix at Cannes, the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury, the Lumière award, 11 César nominations and I could go on. After being highly lauded by critics: 87% on Rottentomatoes, more than an average of * * * * in the French press (see Allociné) and after the astounding reaction of the audience following our very first fundraising event, Xavier Beauvois’ latest feature, Of Gods and Men (Des Hommes et des dieux), is finally being released in Montreal.

A film of this calibre deserves a perfect theatre. At the Cinéma Parallèle there are no obnoxious nacho cheese odours, no sounds of popcorn crunching and no less than par screenings.

Basically, there is no better place to see a film and, this Friday, there is no better film to see.

It’s a date.
